Teacher wins award at National Council of Teachers of English conference

English Teacher Steven Arenas received an Early Career Educator of Color Leadership Award at the National Council of Teachers of English conference in St. Louis.

Arenas is in his first year teaching at Carl Hayden high School, after a year at Alhambra High School.

He began his career at Tolleson’s Westview High School.

He is also former assistant superintendent Jose Arenas’ oldest son.
