Three leading Arizona education entities—Achieve60AZ, College Success Arizona, and Expect More Arizona—announced today that they have pooled their resources and teams to become one organization. Rich Nickel, president and CEO of College Success Arizona since 2012, will lead the consolidated organization. This announcement comes as a result of a year of thoughtful consideration among board members, community stakeholders, and funders, and with Arizona’s students at the center of the decision-making process.
This alignment will provide greater clarity and cohesion, will result in an even stronger voice for Arizona’s students and educators, and will provide a more robust platform to advance the goals outlined in the Arizona Education Progress Meter. The expanded organization will continue working statewide and with existing community partners of all three previous entities to advance education outcomes for children and adults across the education continuum, from the early years through college and career.
The organization, to be renamed later this year, will now embark on an extensive listening tour to engage diverse communities regarding what is needed to reach the Arizona Education Progress Meter goals. The three entities coming together share a united desire to elevate conversations and action around issues of educational equity and the impact of opportunity gaps on student outcomes.
